These events and courses are designed not only for the resident, but also for the clinic’s faculty and staff as well as practicing pediatricians of western Attica or even nationwide depending on the event. Tuesday, 14:00 to 15:00. Postgraduate coursesContinuing Education in Pediatrics (Room 3 in the basement). Presented by the Clinic’s Faculty/Medical Staff and by specialists of other clinics and/or hospitals, it is coordinated by the Director of the Clinic, Associate Professor V. Papaevangelou.
Wednesday, 14:00 to 15:00. Pediatric Pulmonology Courses, (Room 3 in the basement). Coordinator of the event is the Assistant Professor K. Priftis
Thursday, 14:00 to 15:00. Interesting Case presentation (Room 3 in the basement). The event is presented by a resident under the supervision of an Attending pediatrician. Coordinator of the event is Dr. S. Fessatou
B) Monthly events:
Every second Friday of the month, 14:00-15.00. Scientific meeting of Faculty/Medical Staff of the 3rd Pediatrics and 3rd Obstetrics University Clinics (Seminar Room 15, 2nd floor), where clinical problems related to the perinatal period are discussed. Coordinator of the event is Dr. E. Tsekoura
C) Annual Events:
Annual Postgraduate Seminar of the 3rd Pediatric Clinic “Days of Pediatric Updates”
It is held in the auditorium of the Athens College every March and lasts two days. Our faculty and medical staff, guest speakers from other university hospitals in Greece and word-wide specialists are invited to discuss current practices in Pediatrics. Since 2005, seminar proceedings are published and circulated during the seminar. The event is open to the public.
Annual Interclinic Conference of the 3rd Pediatric and 3rd Obstetrics & Gynecology Departments
It takes place in the Attikon Hospital Amphitheatre every December. Since 2006, members of 3rd Pediatric and the 3rd Obstetrics & Gynecology University Departments as well as guest speakers from other hospitals in the country, discuss current topics concerning the mother-fetus unit.
Annual Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine Workshop
It takes place in the Attikon Hospital Amphitheatre in March. It is directed mostly toward hospital pediatricians and pediatric pulmonary specialists with speakers from the 3rd Pediatric Clinic and other University hospitals in the country and abroad.
Annual Seminar on Breastfeeding
It is held at the “Attikon” University General Hospital and lasts five days. It includes theoretical and practical training.
Aimed primarily at health professionals, the instructor are doctors, midwives and nurses predominantly from the 3rd Pediatric & the 3rd Obstetrics & Gynecology University Departments. Speakers from other hospitals are usually invited as well.
Part of this program includes the following educational activities:
Roundtable discussion of topics concerning breastfeeding
