In the Third Pediatric Clinic, medical students from the University of Athens Medical School are trained for 10 weeks during their 11th or 12th semester. Students are divided into three educational groups and their rotations include six weeks of training in the Pediatric Clinic, two weeks in the Neonatal Care Unit and two weeks in the Outpatient Clinic.
During their rotation, medical students are expected to be actively involved in the daily inpatient care and often are responsible of presenting their patient during clinical rounds.
One hour lecture is held daily from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m
All 3 groups of students attend our postgraduate events and courses with the Department’s medical staff as part of their training from 14:00 to 15:00 according to the following schedule:
Monday: Literature Review presented by Attendings
Tuesday: Postgraduate Courses
Wednesday: Pediatric Pulmonology Medicine Course
Thursday: Presentation of interesting cases by residents
Friday: Group Presentation – Medical students review interesting topics in General Pediatrics in the presence of the Department’s Chairman and medical staff.
